I work primarily using acrylic paint to build textured, dynamic scenes that capture color and sensory experiences.
We are but small beings in a complicated world. My goal is to create a sense of place, the feeling of oneself within the landscape.
One idea builds upon another, ultimately producing works in a series. I also work with collaged pieces, combining paint with altered papers.
My career as a florist, gardener, and horticulturist taught me more about color and composition than I learned in art school. I've been fortunate to have lived in a great city rich with culture and inspiration, and also in the countryside, immersed in nature. These experiences inform my work.
This website showcases some of my artistic explorations.
